Amanda of Jake & Jack came to us seeking a rebrand to accompany her name change from Triple J Gifts to Jake & Jack. Her business had seen rapid success since her launch in 2020, and with a growing customer base plus exciting wholesale opportunities, she knew her brand needed a professional, unique identity. The future growth of her brand was at stake, so the time to build a solid foundation to expand upon was now!

Strategy

Jake & Jack (named after two of Amanda’s sons) is a brand passionate about childhood development and encouraging critical skill-building that will last for years to come. Whether through its best-selling Give/Save/Spend bank that teaches foundational financial wellness or its other learning-focused products, the company seeks to strike a unique note in the saturated children’s product market by offering simple, aesthetically-pleasing, timeless products that seek not just to entertain but to educate.

The concept of leaving a legacy is inspired by Amanda’s personal story, whose first husband passed away a few years before the brand began, and his passion for financial education. Amanda hopes that through Jake & Jack, not only will her children be handed a legacy of a successful business but most importantly that the children whose lives are touched by her products will leave a legacy in their own families—starting with the skills they learned as children.

Brand Visual Identity Design

The visual identity began with logo inspiration from the wooden, hand-crafted products themselves. Based off the brand strategy, we knew we wanted a design that was clean, simple, but also playful and appealing to both parents and children.

The logo design incorporates rounded corners for a hand-carved feel; all caps type to ground against feeling too childlike; and hidden phonetic and mathematical symbols to allude to the educational products offered.

After the logo design was established, we created a suite of supporting graphics to bring the brand to life with custom icons, a monogram, and more all created in the brand’s signature hand-hewn, rounded style.

Additionally, we incorporated a hand-crafted typeface for a childlike, simple, and playful touch to prevent the brand from looking and feeling too cold and harsh.

Shopify Website Development

After the visual identity design, we carried the brand into a custom website built on Shopify to market Jake + Jack’s products to the right audience.
